Objectives for Choral Ensembles
SATB Choir: The objective of the SATB Choir is that each student will be able to produce tone in a healthy way, interpret basic musical symbols, sing with others, have developed a sense of pitch, and act as a contributing member of an ensemble.
Treble Choir: The objective of the Treble Choir is that each student will be able to perform ear training exercises, sight-read using solfege, learn and apply the fundamentals of music theory, build upon healthy vocal technique, and act as a contributing member of an ensemble.
Concert Choir: The objective of the Concert Choir is that each student will be able to apply what they have learned in previous courses, perform with intent, understand how pieces fit into a cultural and historical timeline, and perform a broad range of choral styles.
Chamber Singers: The objective of the Chamber Singers is that each student will be able to sing alone and with the group, apply music theory and music history to rehearsals and performances, and act as a leader in the ensemble.
Madrigal Singers: The objective of the Madrigal Singers is that each student will be able to sing alone and with the group, apply music theory and music history to rehearsals and performances, and act as a leader in the ensemble and the choral program.
